They are all similar enough that most skills transfer over pretty well. I recently switched fron Inventor to Solidworks. I have noticed, in the last few years especially.the software companies are really focused on new and ‘cool looking’ technologies like that. Plus, after doing it for a couple decades, I feel I have enough intuition about required strength vs forces.again, it’s just not worth the time to fully engineer it. Most everything I design has to be made cheaply with laser cutting and easy forming, or just out of structural steel pieces. My career has always been more industrial, more custom and lower volume stuff, so shaving a few grams off of a support plate isn’t worth the time it would take to engineer it to that level. Do you mean something like Inventors design generator, where is uses FEA to ‘generate’ a design to fit a criteria?
